The last two are basically just my tips, but I would definitely recommend it if you are going for the avatar.

instructions:

A fleet of malfunctioning clockwork grundos are on march, and their mission is your destruction! The only way to stop them is by typing in the words on their body screen, which causes the grundos to explode.
Keep an eye on the hint box in the lower right-hand corner, since it will show you the word that needs to be typed. Also, look out for specially colored grundos that give you more points.

I would go over the screen, but it's pretty self-explanatory. You aren't really "playing" as anyone, so yeah. If you do have any questions though, feel free to neomail me. (: the point system:

there are 3 different types of grundos:
the basic yellow clockwork grundos, the red upside down clockwork grundos, and the sparking red or purple clockwork grundos.

the basic (yellow) clockwork grundos: these grundos are worth 5 points. these are definitely the most common grundos to pop up, but they definitely do add up.

the red (upside down) clockwork grundos: these grundos are worth 20 points. these should be your second priority, ahead of the basic ones. these are very helpful, but sometimes hard to type. my advice is to type the first letter and look in the bottom right corner of your screen to type the rest. that way, the target isn't moving.

the sparking clockwork grundos (red & purple): these grundos are worth 100 points. always go for these first, and try to get around 2-3 each round, except for the 1st round (you should get 1-2 then). also note that they come in two colors: purple and red, though the red ones, on average, are more common (they look just like the upside down ones, in this case, except, of course, the text isn't upside down). they also have these springs on the side that make them look deformed and ready to explode quicker.

level 6 scoring: hoorah! the final level: the boss grundo. in this level, you have to type 25 words in 60 seconds. each word is 8 letters long. if i were you, i would type as fast as i could, but still try to stay accurate! you can receive around 500 points on this level.

after completing this level, the game is over (note that if you run out of time before you complete level 6, you will not receive your "bonus" points). after gaining around 500+ points per level, you will have a total of 2500 points. add the 500 points from level 6 to get a total of 3000 points. at the end of the game, if you have all of your lives, and 100% accuracy, that is worth 600 points, reaching the avatar score! hoorah! (note that i would try to have around 2600 before entering level 6, just in case your accuracy wasn't perfect. but 2500 can still get you the avatar!)

points per level:

soo yeah. like i said earlier, try to have 2500-2600 by the final round. (: otherwise, it will literally be impossible to get the avatar. x3 you'll figure out why later. :3 But just to keep you on track, here is my estimation on around how many points per level you should get (thanks to rechallenge for the suggestion):

level 1: have around 350-500 points by the end of this round.
level 2: you should get around 400-550 points this round giving you a total of around 1000 ish.
level 3: if you get sparking grundos like you should this round and from now on, I'd say you could get 550 points. 200 point for accuracy + 3 sparking grundos.
level 4: pretty much the same as above. the more the merrier.
level 5: just get the rest of what you need to get around the 2550 area. :3 the more the merrier, yet again. but, focus more on this round NOT losing lives. go for the grundos close to your screen, regardless.

note that this may not be accurate, and this point scale is NOT required to obtain the 3600 points required for the avatar.

my tips/strategies:

well, of course, these are all just my opinion, but i would say this is the exact way i got the avatar. if you are atleast somewhat like me, you probably will get better by using the following tips.

• in the 1-3 levels, get 100% typing. it really isn't that hard. practice makes perfect!
• lose a life & start over. you won't stand a chance at the avatar if you have less than 3 lives; sorry!
• don't get frustrated. you probably still think this game is about luck, but i think it's more about patience. sooner or later, you will get the avatar. just play everyday, atleast 3 times, and send your score everytime as long as you finish the game.
• try to have around 2500-2600 points after level 5.
• play with the sound off; it's really distracting to hear something explode. o_o
• play in training mode for about 2-3 minutes before actually trying for the avatar. this will get you "warmed up" and focused on the game.
• do not have any instant messaging programs up, neomail inbox up, or email(s) up.
• don't pause in between levels. i know you get a little break, and the next level doesn't come up until you click space, but if you go chat in your guild or on the boards, when you come back, if you are on a higher level, you might have trouble typing accurate and fast without losing a life.
• know how many words you have to type to complete the level (count!).

  dont worry about counting level 6.
• play in the mode that suits you best. for me, i like playing in large mode, as the words are bigger. but if you have a slow internet connection, it might be best to play in normal mode. always play with the best quality. (:
